Privacy

Short version: TorMonitor has no ads, no analytics and no accounts, and this website has no cookies or third-party trackers.

The app

TorMonitor stores its settings, torrent list and resume data on your Mac, in ~/Library/Application Support. Nothing is uploaded to us. The app connects to the internet for:

  • BitTorrent traffic: peers, trackers and the DHT, as every torrent client does. Other peers in a swarm can see your IP address.
  • Feeds and sites you add: RSS feeds, Torznab APIs and pages you open in the Torrent Sites browser.
  • Peer locations: when the Network map or country blocking is on, peer IP addresses are sent to the ip-api.com geolocation service and the results are cached on your Mac for 30 days. Addresses on your local network are never sent. Turn this off in Preferences ▸ UI Settings with “Show peer locations on the Network map”.
  • Pro licence checks: if you bought Pro, your licence key is checked with Polar at launch and once a day.

This website

tormonitor.fun is a set of plain pages with no database, no cookies and no third-party analytics scripts. To know how the site is doing, our own server counts page views, downloads and the name of the site that sent you here (for example google.com). It doesn’t store IP addresses: to count daily visitors it keeps a short code made from your IP address and browser that changes every day and can’t be turned back into either. These numbers stay on our server and are seen only by us. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts. Like any web server, the hosting provider keeps standard access logs (IP address, page, time) for security and troubleshooting.

Purchases

TorMonitor Pro is sold by Polar, which acts as merchant of record and handles payment, tax and receipts under its own privacy policy. We receive your email address and order details from Polar.
